Alright, first a bit of news. Here’s another Robin Walker interview. It’s about gameplay, balance, stuff like that. Robin reveals he’d like to do something like the TF2 beta you’ve heard about here and there with all the prototype weapons and stuff, but on a wider scale. That and they’re thinking of nerfing Natascha.
Now, have this vid I had a ton of fun collaborating on.
This wrench business is getting out of hand. I just want them to get on with it so I can see what the next unlock is. The pistol replacement is nice, I never liked the idea of having something to control your sentry but raising a shield around it and doubling it’s fire rate made it sound interesting.
I wonder if the PDQ is the next unlock? Seems a bit too obvious.
EDIT: Oh dear, someonefucked up. The comments are even…better? I’m not even sure, everything about this is horrible.
Check the comments below for a chatlog on what’s happening. My favorite part is where DF reveals that drop times were just predetermined all along. Cool random system you’ve got there, Valve.
Just to clarify, that’s just a log page. You don’t get anything by clicking there. The wrench drops are also random, and when there’s less than 100 wrenches left you shouldn’t expect to get anything anyway.
Oh look, comic time. Here comes the calm before the storm. And by calm I mean the TF2 site not loading due to it being hammered to death by tens of thousands of requests.
I’ve been flu’d since monday, and the headaches were pretty much the reason why I didn’t really post anything lately. But now that my noggin’s fine I finally finished the vid I was working on. Click on trendy entrepreneur Gaben to proceed.
Coincidentally, I found out about the not-so-secretly announced Engie update just as I was rendering the newest vid. Also platinum medals now available for people who preordered TF2. Remember when the pyro had to light people on fire with a pocket lighter?
The Wolfire humble games bundle caught my eye this week. You don’t often get to pay anything you want for 5 games, much less pick where you want the money to go.
Oh, I almost forgot. I’ve been using a shoutbox to chat with authors that were on the site back when they were active, but since it hasn’t seen much use lately I decided to make it available to subscribers. Anyone that has an account here should be able to use it. Just scroll down, and you should see it.
Remember that fake engie update posted a while back? A video’s been released showing the Amplifier sort of working ingame. Wonder when this will be downloadable for server admins in Sourcemod script form…
Also, I seem to have missed a recent L4D2 blog post detailing achievements and a number of new gameplay mechanics. This new campaign just seems to get better and better.
EDIT: And an hour or two later, Valve drops a significant change to the drop system. More details on their blog. Idling will be a lot less useful now, and everyone that isn’t obsessed about models in a video game will now receive them more frequently. About time.
Well, this one certainly took us by surprise as it only has been up on the Official TF2 blog a day or two ago, and I haven’t heard of it until it came up on steam.
