That, and imagine the humiliation of being killed with a fairly weakened melee weapon. People have been whining about it being a useless weapon, but even if it does less damage, you’re not the only person on your team, it can either finish up for someone else, or you can just use it to smack at them and run for heals. Now, for destroying buildings, again, it’s the humiliation. It’s like a scout circle-strafing a Level 3 sentry and beating it to death with a baseball bat, something I’ve almost managed, were it not for someone hitting me with a shotgun blast. It saves ammo (like anyone cares about that as pyro though), does a ton of damage to buildings apparently, and looks pretty nice. It’s the only community unlock I’ll use, so far.

The Pain Train… Soldiers and Demomen have enough hitpoints and MORE than enough power that capping like a scout isn’t necessary. Also, who would give up the very useful Eyelander or especially awesome Equalizer for something like that?

And the Homewrecker? The Pyro flamethrower is second only to sticky bombs at sentry removal. It also has the distinct advantage of burning the engie to death at the same time… and if you can crouch behind a dispenser, the way it does damage, the sentry will die before the dispenser, and the engie will die before both. I guess maybe if you never melee anyone as a Pyro…
