Valve’s put up a couple of Portal 2 gameplay vids on their official youtube channel. This isn’t news if you’ve seen E3, but it’s nice to see everything in glorious HD.

The polycount contest has ended, and there’s some rather nice entries in there. A few of the posters are down though, it’s never a good idea to use imageshack as an image host when your site’s about to get bombarded by a whole userbase. Anyway the contest winners will be announced on the 12th of July, though Valve will probably have to take a break from all the judgin’ before actually implementing the new weapons.

Remember those old 2d bike handling games where you’d navigate through really awkward and hazardous terrain with a scrawny dude?

Happy wheels is something like that, except you don’t instantly die when you hit something with your body, in fact you can have limbs barely hanging onto you through shredded flesh and still pilot what you’re on. The ragdolls are really gory and detailed, but somewhat entertaining. Also, there’s four racers. Top tier jetchair hobo, awkward segway guy, Dad and Shaun, and Gabe Newell.

Oh, and if you register an account there you can share replays, which is pretty damn awesome. No, I’m not making a video. I’m tired and I don’t play this enough for really fun stuff to happen. :<

Well, not anymore.

Really though, a lot of ludicrous achievements should be kept secret. You really can’t get them by trying in an online match.

So you’ve probably seen this video and are wondering why the hell everything’s in french. Well, you can either learn what each button does and navigate blindly or you could choose the english version. Thing is, more people play on the french one, and the servers are separate.

EDIT: Scratch that, the /en/ version is fine now. It’s got the new levels and more players, so you don’t really have any reason to learn some french right now.

Luckily there’s not much you have to do to create an account, so you can easily navigate the french version with a bit of practice.

You move with wasd or the arrow keys. You can jump once by pressing up. If you fall off a surface without jumping you can jump mid-air. Walljumping is a bit tricky mainly due to how slippery it feels, but what you generally have to do is go nose first into a wall while in the air, jump off it, and turn around once after you jumped off it in order to be able to jump again.

As for other tips I’d just say play a few games and see what other people do. Shaman’s keys are cvbn for constraints, you rotate things with the mousewheel, and you have to hold M1 to spawn things. Join some less frequented rooms instead of going straight for the 80-man clusterfucks.

EDIT: Yes, the page is down at random times. The game’s probably going to go viral, which doesn’t bode well for those servers.

Yeah, not TF2. There’s this fun little web game put out by some french dudes where you play as a mouse that has to get cheese and run back to a hidey hole. The fun part comes in when you got more than 50 people in the same room, and you start seeing some lemming behavior. There’s also an english version, but they function on separate servers, so the french one has more players. Silly move if you ask me, but at least you can read up on help files there.

Oh wow. First Microsoft pounds our hopes into the ground, and then while we’re considering suicide Nintendo picks us up and showers us with love.

It’s like Valve not showing up suddenly isn’t much of a tragedy.

So much drama over some earbuds. I mean, I care more about the new and unimproved main menu, or the engie’s new shotgun Valve exposed in that new mac video. I can also see how people are going to say blu team is such and such thanks to the above advert. Also, didn’t they say that TF2 was supposed to be easy to learn in the first place? Why’d they put in a training mode that practically holds your hand?

But still, the community reaction is funny.

EDIT: Oh and why is there a mute players button in the main menu? This just don’t make sense dawg.

Valve announced no Portal 2 at E3 a few days ago or so, but I thought I already posted an article on it. Apparently the surprise is P2-themed, but the surprise is the fact that P2 gets delayed. Don’t worry, they’ll make it better. Cheers for the link, Odin.

Meanwhile, I’ve been making a small python script that reads your spray directory and cycles your active spray randomly from them. Okay, this may not have any real use to most of you but I felt like doing it. Might upload it later on as .exe and source if people ask for it.

Isn’t it a bit counterproductive to only have a few items pop up every time the item cap resets every late wednesday? This new item drop idea did stop most idlers from idling (for some fucked up reason people still do it), but I feel that people that care more about items and hats will stop playing for the rest of the week after they’re certain they hit the item cap.

Valve also announced that Portal 2 won’t be at E3 this year, but they do have a surprise in store for us. It’s probably that Midnight Riders DLC for L4D2 that was hinted at a while ago.

As for me, I’ll just be right here getting stressed out by upcoming exams.
