New patch, big deal. There’s been three new hats added, which are made out of more hats. Variants for the propaganda contest winners have also been added. They’re just the hats I mentioned, only with a small badge added on it.
The thing that baffles me is that now stickies can’t be shot out of the air. From what I’ve seen this mostly happens against a heavy, but why deprive him of a rare, short burst of glory against a class that already gives him enough trouble?

Hooray! Valve finally fixed the menu’s being stuck in the War update

It’s nice having old menu’s again.
But really. Valve should stop gimping the Heavy. he’s already easy enough to avoid, his hitboxes are big enough to make most shots from long range pistoling hit, he’s easy to hit with rockets.. The only way you’ll lose to him is if you run right at his face, he jumps around a corner and hits you point blank, or you screw up a headshot, backstab, or decide to axtinguish him too soon, for the most part.
Come on now, give him a chance, Valve. he’s pretty much the damn mascot.

Well usualy when i run against heavy its 100% he wins if he is supported by medic . But without Medic….yeah heavy is quite useless .

yup I quite liked the heavy being able to pick them out of the air, but I can see why they dropped it – the heavy has a very wide spread so it was quite easy to do/spam (e.g. heavy sitting on an sg nest was almost as good as having a pyro there). Maybe if they reduced the chance of a sticky getting removed?
Anyway I’m hoping(/dreading) for some valentines themed update.

Hendzis: It’s hilarious when, for example, in the sewers of 2fort, from the stairs over to the health and ammo pickup, a heavy with either Sasha or Natascha can’t kill a medic, yet a medic with the right firing arch can drop a heavy down into the red with no problem.
That’s a sign that something is not working right, when a giant minigun-toting BEAST can’t drop an over-rated Nurse with a gun that shoot’s needles. Hell, a Medic pretty much has the best rapid-fire alternative to the minigun; it’s fast, concentrated in a small area, does pretty nice damage, and its criticals are absolutely lethal.
Now, the heavy, WHOOPS, sorry, you need to waddle your fatass into near point-blank range to actually put fear into your enemy. Easier with a medic, but with how big, slow, and oblivious he can be, there’s too many ways to drop him fast, effectively making the class useless. granted, that’s if you aren’t real damn good as a heavy.
Teeext waaaall.

Well, the way TF2 seems to be set up is that every class has a few other classes it’s weak against, and a few that it’s strong against.
For example, the Sniper is strong against the Heavy and Sniper because they both tend to move slowly and stand in the same place often. He’s weak against the Spy and Scout, because the Spy is built to sneak up behind him while he’s looking through his scope, and the Scout is very hard to hit. All the other classes are basically down to player skill.
With the Heavy, he’s weak against the Spy and the Sniper because of their one-hit kills. He used to be strong against the Scout because of the Scout’s low health and inability to get close enough to do massive damage. However, the Scout now has the Sandman, which knocks the Heavy out long enough that the Scout can get around the Heavy, and also making the Heavy vulnerable to any other enemies. Same thing with the Pyro, I guess… the Pyro could rarely get close enough to set the Heavy on fire, and the shotgun wouldn’t cut it. Now however, the Pyro has the flare gun, which can be used to set the Heavy on fire.
Not that I’m saying the Sandman and Flare Gun are bad… I love those weapons and use ‘em all the time. They’re also great Sniper counters.
The Heavy did get some help against the Scout and Pyro… he’s got Natascha, which slows a Scout down (though it won’t deflect incoming baseballs), and a Sandvich, which could counter the health lost by being burned from afar, but I don’t think it’s enough.
Having a Medic solves both problems though, because the Medic will put out the fire and the needlegun is very good at repelling Scouts.
Bottom line, the Heavy’s still designed to be a tank. He’s supposed to sit there and deal massive damage while taking considerable damage himself. The Medic is needed to pump the Heavy’s health back up, becuse he can only take two crit rockets before he’s dead.
Still, he’s the only class that can take more than one crit rocket without a buff.
And a good Heavy/Medic is nigh-unstoppable to most other classes. In the absence of Snipers or Spies, a Medic/Heavy could easily take out a fort full of turtling Engineers.
