Team Fortress 2 just received a patch yesterday, and amongst all the bullet points in the notes, two of them stand out. Can you see which ones I’m talking about?
Game Changes
- Reworked the character loadout screens to support future features
- Added the ability for players to permanently delete items from their inventory using the new Backpack menu. This does not reset achievements. Once an item has been deleted it can never be re-earned
- Added the ability for players to reset their player stats using the Reset Stats button on the Stats menu. This does not reset achievements
- Added a “player_teleported” game event that is sent when a player is teleported
- Updated cp_junction_final to score per-capture instead of per-round. This fixes the map not working correctly with Tournament mode and the stopwatch
- Scouts now drop the flag if they’re carrying it when they start phasing
From the looks of it we’ll be getting randomized weapons with variable attributes. Ubercharged.net already has more on this in their newest post. Right now we can’t really draw conclusions to how this will all work out, so we’ll just have to wait and see to find out what Valve is up to.
And about that second line…I understand that in the future you might want to get rid of items that you don’t need, but why put in the delete feature right now when all you’ve got are unlocks that you can earn only once?

Me and a friend decided to take a look at the content when the update came out. I stumbled on this.

The update slipped past me. I don’t keep up to date on patches or visit the official forums that much these days.

I REALLY hope not.
Valve should get our opinion before f**king around with the game like this…
