I’m not sure this would ever work in normal play, but this sanvich fakeout might save your ass if you ever find yourself in a difficult situation.
To summarize quickly: in arena, finding time for sanvich can be hard, especilly in a 1v1. Use your voice chat to confuse and befuddle your enemies into thinking you’re vulnerable!
A very in-depth pyro tutorial made by Gamefr34k. 25 minutes long, it discusses just about everything you need to know when you’re playing the pyro. Now, you’ve probably heard of Don Newman and Huey Lewis. This movie has footage of them and other excellent pyros illustrating different pyro tactics.
Download it from his site in higher quality, or just hit the jump below to view all three embedded parts on youtube.
Team Fortress 2 just received a patch yesterday, and amongst all the bullet points in the notes, two of them stand out. Can you see which ones I’m talking about?
Game Changes
Reworked the character loadout screens to support future features
Added the ability for players to permanently delete items from their inventory using the new Backpack menu. This does not reset achievements. Once an item has been deleted it can never be re-earned
Added the ability for players to reset their player stats using the Reset Stats button on the Stats menu. This does not reset achievements
Added a “player_teleported” game event that is sent when a player is teleported
Updated cp_junction_final to score per-capture instead of per-round. This fixes the map not working correctly with Tournament mode and the stopwatch
Scouts now drop the flag if they’re carrying it when they start phasing
From the looks of it we’ll be getting randomized weapons with variable attributes. Ubercharged.net already has more on this in their newest post. Right now we can’t really draw conclusions to how this will all work out, so we’ll just have to wait and see to find out what Valve is up to.
And about that second line…I understand that in the future you might want to get rid of items that you don’t need, but why put in the delete feature right now when all you’ve got are unlocks that you can earn only once?
Valve posted a new official blog entry earlier, detailing how spawn waves will work in L4D’s new survival mode. Another interesting tidbit of info is the one saying the new update will be out next week. Then again this is valve time we’re talking about.
Chances are you don’t recognize the name Gary Schwartz. I guarantee you you’ll recognize his voice, though– he’s the man behind the Heavy and the Demo.
We don’t get many chances to see voice actors in action, but YouTube has worked its magic, and here we have two (short) videos of Schwartz in person!
The latest update addressed the steam community, changing each member’s profile pages. Haven’t loaded up your profile yet to see what’s new? Alright, I won’t dodge the issue, you can now post and receive comments on steam member pages. Who can post where is up to whoever owns the respective member page. This works for group pages as well.
In short you can set permissions to allow or deny groups of people to post comments on your profile or on group pages that you own.
How this will work out, we’ll see. There doesn’t seem to be any anti-spam method if you’ve got your profile comment permissions set to public, but you can delete them just fine.
I got this sent to me yesterday. Very well done machinima from Melee Insane Tactics. Starts out pretty slow but you really won’t expect what happens afterwards.
Note: it might be better if you go to the video page itself, youtube embeds do not include subtitles and you may have trouble understanding the narrator at the beginning of the movie.
